Application/Candidate/Citizenship Requirements:

Any US Citizen who has been a national member of ANS (including students and associate members) for at least two years, is not a Federal government employee, and whose academic and work experience includes one of the following or equivalent:

  • PhD in a nuclear-related discipline and at least one year of postdoctoral experience in a nuclear field;
  • PhD in another science or engineering discipline and at least three years postdoctoral experience in a nuclear field; or
  • MS in Engineering with at least three years post-degree experience in a nuclear field.

How to apply:

A Call for Applicants is issued at the beginning of each year (for the following Fellowship year). At that time, interested individuals are asked to provide the following information, in this order:

  • Name, Mailing Address, Telephone and Fax Numbers, Email Address;
  • A summary of academic and professional experience (not more than two pages);
  • A brief summary of contributions to ANS National, Local or Student meetings or governance (not more than 100 words);
  • A statement of not more than two pages in length stating the reason for applying, what the Fellow hopes to accomplish, and how the Fellowship will benefit the Fellow and his or her employer; and
  • One letter of reference (and not more than two). Finalists will be asked to send signed originals of the reference letter(s) to ANS headquarters.
