Application/Candidate/Citizenship Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in food science, engineering,
technology, or a related field; or a master's degree
and five years postgraduate professional experience
plus:
- IFT membership;
- United States citizenship; and
- Federal employees are not eligible
In addition, a superior candidate will demonstrate:- Exceptional achievement in food science, engineering, technology or a related field;
- Ability to interact effectively with non-scientists and individuals with differing opinions;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to explain scientific concepts intelligibly to non-scientists;
- Flexibility in undertaking a variety of work; and
- Familiarity with current food policy issues.
- Compose a personal statement of no more than 1,000
words in length describing the following:
- Your qualifications keeping in mind the fellowship criteria;
- Your food and/or agriculture policy experience and/or interests; and
- Your reason for seeking the fellowship, including
how it relates to your career aspirations.
- Prepare a two-page resume listing educational,
professional, and other accomplishments.
