Seth M. Cohen, PhD

Seth Cohen is an Associate Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California, San Diego. He holds degrees from Stanford University (B.S. Chemistry, B.A. Political Science) and the University of California, Berkeley (Ph.D. Chemistry). Seth has performed research in the development of lanthanide-based imaging agents, bacterial iron and manganese transport, and the mechanism of action of platinum-based anticancer agents. His current research interests are in the areas of metalloenzyme inhibitor development and hybrid inorganic-organic materials. His research has been supported by grants from the NIH, NSF, DOE, American Heart Association, and Research Corporation. Seth resides in San Marcos, California with his wife and daughter. In his spare time, Seth enjoys restoring classic automobiles.
