AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowships

Fellows on the Move

Tanuja Rastogi, 2005-07 AAAS Fellow at the U.S. Department of State in the Office of Agriculture, Biotechnology, and Textile Trade Affairs, recently accepted a two-year appointment from the United Nations to serve as Special Policy Advisor to the Executive Director of the World Food Programme in Rome. WFP is the UN’s frontline agency in the fight against global hunger and the largest humanitarian food-aid relief agency in the world.

She will be joining the State Department’s Under Secretary for Economic, Energy and Agricultural Affairs, Josette Sheeran, who will be serving as Executive Director.

According to Dr. Rastogi, "The AAAS diplomacy fellowship has provided the international and economic policy perspective and skills that I need to make this transition."

She will begin her new position in April 2007.
